The Idle Gazette
House Notice — Posted at the Door

Notice to Readers.

A few remarks on pace, correspondence, and the proper conditions for reading this paper.

This paper appears when it has something to say and not a moment earlier. Readers expecting a schedule of industrial regularity are advised to cultivate other hobbies. Readers willing to let the issue arrive with its own weather will find the arrangement more satisfactory.
Correspondence is welcome, especially if it contains an observation, a correction with style, or a defense of some overlooked civilised habit. Demands for urgency, optimised content calendars, or "content buckets" may be acknowledged with a long, thoughtful silence.

On Pace

Read slowly enough that at least one sentence has time to object to you.

On Reply

A response delayed by one afternoon is often improved by one afternoon.

On Setting

A chair by a window is recommended. Fluorescent panic is not.
